What it does
This tool counts the days between today and any date you pick. Enter a target date and it tells you how many days, weeks and months remain until it arrives — or, if the date has already gone by, how long ago it was. It is a quick way to answer "how many days until…?" for a holiday, deadline, birthday or event without reaching for a calendar. Everything runs in your browser; no dates are sent anywhere.
How it works
The calculator takes today's date and your chosen target date and counts the whole calendar days between them. If the target is later than today, that count is shown as days until the date; if it is earlier, it is shown as days ago; if you pick today itself, it simply says so. The same day count is then turned into two rougher units for convenience: weeks (the day count divided by seven, rounded down) and months (the day count divided by the average month length of 30.44 days, rounded down), so a long wait can be read at a glance rather than counted in single days.
Worked example
Take a target date of 2025-12-25, measured from today's date of 2025-06-15. That gap is 193 days, which is roughly 27 weeks and ~6 months. Since the target date is later than today, the tool reports it as days until the date.

- Birthdays: seeing how many days remain until the next birthday or anniversary.

How many days until a specific date?
Enter the date in the target date box and the result updates straight away, showing the day count along with the equivalent in weeks and roughly how many months that is.
What happens if I pick a date in the past?
The tool switches the wording to "days ago" instead of "days until", so you can also use it to work out how long it has been since a past date.
Why is the month figure only approximate?
Calendar months vary from 28 to 31 days, so there is no single exact number of days in "a month". The tool uses the average calendar month length (30.44 days) to give a sensible round-number estimate rather than an exact calendar breakdown.
